Customer Reviews for IdeaTab Lynx Keyboard Dock
Review 1 for IdeaTab Lynx Keyboard Dock
Owned Product:1-6 months
Operating System:Windows 8 Pro
Terrible keyboard for an otherwise awesome tablet
Date:August 9, 2013
Pros: usb ports
Cons: Weight, reliability
"PROS: First, it gives you full-sized USB ports that make it much easier to connect peripherals to the Lynx. Second, this keyboard dock holds the tablet rigidly at the angle you set for easy typing on any surface, including your legs.
CONS: The plastic frame that holds the tablet upright is too thick, and more than doubles the overall thickness of the keyboard making it difficult to tote around. Its internal battery isn't really needed for the Lynx, and mostly just doubles its weight.
The biggest problem is that it drops keystrokes. Many reviewers have noted this. It feels as though the keys bind a bit when depressed. This leads to LOTS of typos. I tried a bluetooth keyboard with the Lynx and it worked just fine.
CONCLUSION: Buy the Lynx, but skip this keyboard."
"The keyboard is actually designed as an additional=short-term battery power source. When connect together, the tablet uses keyboard battery to charge it's own battery.. So, you have to charge the keyboard separately from the tablet, as when they are connected together, neither one is charging???, hence, you have to disconnect the tablet from dock, and charge it separately for 3 hrs. Then, wake up in middle of the night to take it off, and then charge the dock separately for another 3 hours. In the next morning, after 6hrs of double duty charging, you'll realize charging the dock alone never worked and charging both of them docked together, never worked either.. Simply, it is a defective and unusable tablet design. i.e. a recipe for failure and frustration."
