Requires HDD Caddy and Rubber Rails
Date:July 19, 2012
Pros: Storage
Cons: Storage
"I used this adapter to add a second drive to the T430. I works fine but requires the drive to be in the HDD caddy with the rubber rails. The caddy and rails are needed to keep the drive securely in the adapter. I have not found the caddy on Lenovo site, but is available on sites that sell Thinkpad parts."

"The drive fits perfectly into my W520. I added a Crucial M4 as my main drive and moved my 500gb drive that shipped with the laptop into the bay. No problems there.
The only issue I have is that my drive is a few cm. shorter than the "flip" that is supposed to hold flush at the bottom of the drive. This causes the drive to actually come loose inside of the attachment if jarred forcefully in a bag and even when ejecting the bay it can pop out.
I need to wedge something inside of the bay so that it fits snug. I have yet to decide what that something is at this moment though and whenever I can't see my drive I just pop it out and push the hdd back in."
