"I bought this computer to have dedicated to onsite consulting in remote offices. I couldn't be happier. The battery will literally last me almost two full days. If it had a back lit keyboard I'd have bought two! Fast processor and great connectivity across all platforms. If it doesn't have the driver software it'll get it for you in a matter of seconds. Low on hard drive space (mine is 500g) but I store everything externally. If you're looking for a solid business dedicated laptop - I recommend giving this one a shot."

Touchpad ruins laptop

"I've had Idea Pad G580 several weeks. Love the machine itself, but they totally ruined useability by having this touchpad. First it was trouble with Win 8, which I was not familiar with. Took a week and dumbed down Win 8 to Win 7 level which allowed me to find it was really the PS/2 Port synaptics touchpad was more of a problem. I now have almost all that turned off. was told the best solution is to buy a mouse! I do not buy an expensive laptop to then have to go buy a mouse. I have had Lenovo laptops in the past. I NEVER had to TUNE IT UP to get to use it. Good monitor, works fast, nice, the whole machine is nice but the touchpad truly RUINS it. Keypad is GREAT!"
