"I scoured the internet and tech stores on the ground for a cost-effective, yet well stocked, and cool looking laptop for my soon to be college freshman son and I couldn't have found a better fit. Really shocked to find a laptop that has so much memory, hard drive, 3rd generation i5 chip, other great features and is designed to look much more expensive at this price. Only lacking feature that would have been good is no backlit keyboard but on the other hand this is an excellent tactile keyboard design."
"This is my 2nd lenovo laptop, the first one I had was a very old model, but this is 20x better! It's got a decent processor so it's fairly fast, the graphics card can play any old games and its ideal for DJ's, i use it with a variety of software and it runs smoothly. However, try to get windows 7, windows 8 isn't the best of OS"
"my lenovo g580 laptop cant send any data at faster rate, matlab software takes 2-3 mins to run, vlc media player and bluetooth applications someimes not running properly. i am using windows 7 ultimate, 32 bit. my ram is 4gb , processer is core i5. please dont go for lenovo anymore. its just frustrating. i realized alot that low cost product will never satisfy us."
Pros: Warranty, Processor, Included software, Wireless card, Screen size
"I have purchased lenovo laptop recently. It was G580 model with 2 gb memory card and 500 hdd and i3 processor. The keyboard designing is good and better screen size. The size is 15.6 inches. It have speed issue because of 2gb memory card. You can try purchasing this laptop with extended memory card.Inbuilt given with wireless card, bluetooth, windows 8 os and useful apps."
Cons: Display resolution, Weight, Included Software, poor dising
"I bought one fo the most expensive configurations of the g580 ideapad : i7 quad core 3.2gh turboboost 6 gb ram at 1600mhz 1tb sata hard and nvidia geforce gt635m 2gb , iam using it for 1 month and is incradible .. has tiny problems like the panal .. the fingers prits are every where but they are not that hard to clear , it can run every game in the world even crysis 3 , battery has long life even with the powerfull i7 cpu , you can forget the meaning of the word "lag" , it does not have the best desing like the other new models but can cup most of them becouse of the 2x 3.0 usb and the other ports that really are important , i recomand it to every one that is not rich and still want to have a good computer :) !"
Pros: Processor, Included software, Durability, Software compatibility, Build Quality
"I purchased my G580 Lenovo laptop from Staples and it was excellent choice. I was looking for Windows7 OS and it was hard to find anywhere. It turns out it came with a great value laptop as well. The G580 Lenovo laptop has a sturdy frame, attractive design and speed. The performance is good and the price is more than reasonable. I will highly recommend Lenovo for every day computing!"
"Anyone planning this model, I would suggest getting a mouse from the seller as a complementary. The touchpad might give a hardtime at times. Why the single-button to start/stop wireless has been removed. No LED-indicators in the charger cable, also the microphone jack is missing. Expecting a good performance from this model as it is a 64bit machine with upgradable RAM."
"I wish it was not too late to return this. The touchpad is too large and too sensitive. It is constantly jumping places while I try to do something else. (as I type this, my cursor jumps up the first line b/c I barely touch w/my hand). I have searched and researched and no way to adjust sensitivity. I hate Windows 8. Combine windows 8 with the ultra sensitive touch/trackpad and it is constantly opening things on accident. Also, it has no SD card port, which I should have researched, but assumed all new computers had those."
"Lenovo no longer produces good quality computers. In the last year I have seen every Lenovo product purchased by people I know or by me have problems. Their tablets have screen and speaker issues. Their laptops have video problems, etc., etc. I would advise everyone to stay away from Lenovo products."
"It performs well but little did I know that these G580's are know to have issues with the laptop not recognizing that a wifi adapter is connected. So it's just a tiny desktop until Lenovo can fix this issue. FYI, they've know about this issue for a couple of years now and have yet to find a permanent fix."
"This Laptop has Windows 8 installed in it, and is awesome. The only con I want to specify is, it is not Touchscreen. Any way Dolby Digital Audio, Lenovo Solution center, Energy Management, etc., are very powerful tools to tweak your laptop and they improve computer performance and user experience. This is also a Low Budget laptop, with maximum amount of facilities and features. I would like to recommend this laptop for the ones that would like to enjoy max features at a low price."
"I was fortunate enough to get a great price on what I thought would be a "basic" laptop. The interface with the Intel i3 2nd generation processor is exceptional and durable. The support software Lenovo has included has kept my system running as smooth as the day I purchased it. Practically manages itself, I merely get a pop up on task bar informing me of the administrative task it has completed, that otherwise I would have had to initiate. Good job on a very affordable "essential laptop""
