Poor Screen and Software development
Date:December 17, 2012
Pros: Screen size
Cons: Storage, Input/Output compatibility, Included Software, Software compatibility, Processor, Display performance, updates are not tested before push
"At first glance this seems like a really nice tablet for the money. At second glance it is a very poor quality screen with a severely limited viewing angle. Processor is quite sluggish until you disable all of the bloat-ware installed on the tablet. Today an update was pushed out for the tablet that caused the tablet to switch to Chinese language and since the menus are slightly altered I could not get it changed back to English without a complete reset. I have boxed it back up and I am returning it to the retailer that sold it to me. Very upset. Hours wasted on setup. Your development team that pushes out updates needs to do more testing before they push out an update that causes this kind of inconvenience to your customers. This is the last Lenovo product I will ever purchase."
Cons: Memory, Weight, Keyboard/peripherals, Storage, Included Software
"The price is right, the build quality is good, performance is fast, size is typical for a 7" tablet (at time of writing this). Included software is good, but too much fluff given the meager 8 GB total. But it does have an SD card slot. My only concern is total lack of user instructions. For first time tablet buyers, you might be lost. No online user community either."
Cons: Input/Output compatibility, Bluetooth, Keyboard/peripherals, Included Software
"For design and value you really can't fault this tablet, it does everything you'd expect a tablet to do
However there are certain things that stop this from being perfect.
* The device doesn't support Bluetooth keyboards this is ridiculous as an external keyboard would add so much to the tablet's functionality.
* On first switching on the tablet there was a weather widget pre-installed on the home screen, it displays the temperature in Fahrenheit with no way to switch it over to Celsius, again, stupid.
* Listening to music on a Bluetooth headset stutters and skips, something that doesn't happen with my mobile phone.
* It would be nice to be able to make voice calls from the tablet, giving particular use to the dual SIM functionality.
"THIS TABLET IS GARBAGE, DO NOT BUY IT. I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW A WEEK AGO. ITS ALREADY NOT WORKING. IT WONT EVEN TURN ON ILL NEVER BUY THIS BRAND AGAIN."
"Bought 4months ago. I use for Business and pleasure. The wifi is much better that the other 2 tablets I own. I use 3G and it works like a mobile phone. With 32 Micro SD I have 30 films for viewing on planes etc. My experience is that this tablet is very useful and represents great value for money. It is a solid machine and it can be used outdoors but not in direct sunshine. My only quibble would be the cover on the card slots is a little difficult to put on. 3 friends have bought it on my recommendation."
Cons: Storage, Memory, Input/Output compatibility, Keyboard/peripherals, Included Software
"Nice little tablet my first one. I am unsure what the IPAD has to offer but this Lenova sure does do everything I need to do. The apps are Ok, but I don't need most of them. The only thing I do not like is the touch pad is not very sensitive and the instructions I cant find on the web. I added 32mb of memory and for work this thing is great, Email and wifi. If you need more I cant imagine what else you could want especially for 300-400 dollars more. Don't waste your money on an IPAD if 7 inches will suffice. This is a great tablet."
"It is a awesome at this price. I play games and wathch video. Its display resolution is great. Only things needed to improve are that it is a little bit heavy and package does not include a manual."
"great tablet, easy to get around on it ,can do most thing a small laptop can...freezes sometimes, but easy to remedy, battery can heat up at times and kills the tablet for a short time, over all a fun, useful and loaded machine."
"I bought this for personel use but have found myself using it for work. With Docs to go installed and acrobat reader its a godsend for downloading documents from email to read or even print. Have also downloaded lots of apps including a TV app that allows me to watch TV whilst connected through 3G in the car.for the price.. Love it"
"I love this tablet! It's very portable and charges up extremely quickly. I travel alot, and I need some sort of entertainment to survive long trips. It's quality is great for the price and it's fast with surfing the web. Its great, the camera is really good for a tablet. I also dropped it a few times and it didn't break at all! Would definitely recommend it!"
Cons: Memory, Input/Output compatibility, Included Software, Software compatibility, Processor
"needs to have a text message apps for the models that have the sim card. but again im returning this cause of the text massaging if there was any but guess not. i'll go to galaxy note."
"I like it very much however there is a major fault that cannot go unnoticed, I need an external keyboard, the onscreen keyboard is not a good option since it takes a lot of the screen and it's slow to type with it, the tablet has bluetooth but no bluetooth HID support and the micro USB doesn't work as a host to plug in a keyboard or mouse. If lenovo address the bluetooth HID fault I-ll give it 5 stars but I really need external keyboard and possibly mouse."
"this is my first adroid table . im more of a apple guy but for the price it is a very decent table. the os is got a bit of a lerning curve but the hardwarw fits in a good package. i would buy one again if givin the chance"
"I purchased this tablet for my 15 year old after returning a non-name brand that died after a couple of uses. Cost was a big issue and this one was a great price for what features it had. Memory was small, but everything else was great. Fast and screen is nice. May get another one for my 13 year old."
"I brought the tablet to replace another one and I am impressed so far. The Wi-Fi connection is good and web surfing seems easy. I can't compare my experience to higher end models such as the I-Pad Mini or Galaxy, but I bought a very capable tablet. I have not tested the camera or done any video conferencing so can't comment on those features. The tablet did not come with any user manual nor was this available thru their website. Luckily, I had experience with the other tablet. Also, there is a micro SD slot available. You have to slide off the top cover on the back to find it."
"Purchased not ONE, but TWO Lenovo A2107 tablets for my kiddos for Christmas (they're 4 and 11). One froze up within 48 hours; however, a quick search on the internet answered how to reset the unit to be back up and running again in no time flat.
These are our family's first tablets. We have had a BLAST with them, especially having BOTH sides of our family on screen via Skype when the girls noticed what Santa brought them. It made for a most wonderful Christmas morning experience.
We've downloaded all our favorite games, apps, etc., and all works well, with clean graphics and precise sound. Love the front/rear cameras, too.
"Purchased this tablet for christmas, the device shut off and wouldn't turn back on after just 2 DAYS!!
I buy (formerly) IBM products simply for their durability and reliability. Apparently this product is as far from that model as possible. Will be returning mine for a Nexus 7."
