If you can find one, get it

Date:September 7, 2014
"It's got quality build. The screen is nice and bright. Movies and Powerpoints look amazing. The performance is great. You do make some trade offs using an 8" tablet versus a larger Windows tablet or even a laptop. It's an extension to a laptop, not a replacement. The screen in desktop mode makes it tough to use your fingers. That's the case with this unit and any of the competition. A Bluetooth keyboard and mouse help, but the idea of a tablet is to not have a keyboard. If a keyboard is important to you, buy an ultrabook, not a tablet.
This and other 8" tablets take heat from reviewers for only having 2GB of RAM. 2GB is plenty. RAM is not the problem. The processor wasn't designed to be as fast as desktop PCs. I have used Adobe Photoshop with only minor delay.
I wish power button was on top not side.
Battery life is ok. I get 6 hours. Camera is so-so, lots of noise in my pictures.
I use it to read papers, for travel, movies, edit documents, photos and excel. Perfect for that.

Perfect for travel in more ways than one

Date:August 12, 2014
"Yes, this tablet is fully loaded as is, but I use it for photographic purposes. I travelled to Central America carrying a full-size DSLR, 3 lenses and other stuff and I don't have room for a laptop. I switched my SD cards to microSD and use the SD adapter to load pix onto the Thinkpad. Now I can see what I've captured, do quickie edits via Picasa before I go home to PS and see the fruit of my labor. With wifi access the internet is quick. I've expanded my storage capacity by adding in a 64GB microSD card in which I store movies and such for entertainment during long flights. Great tablet!"

Bad picture with flash and small fonts on Apps

Date:July 16, 2014
"I love this machine with only a few exceptions. The biggest disappointment is the camera when using the flash. It is a great camera. But when you use the flash the picture is washed out. I have tried changing the settings but it doesn't help much. One more complaint, font sizes. You have to set them for the many different areas and you cannot change the font size for the apps tiles. 3 stars on value is because for the money it should have 4GB ram instead of 2. To its credit it is still faster than my wife’s Surface RT but paid half the price. Had it for about 5 months and it crashed once. Had to hard reboot. Thats all the complaints. The reason I chose to buy the ThinkPad 8 over the other 8” tablets is because it has the full version of Windows not RT, 8mp camera with flash, 64gb hard drive, micro SD slot up to 64gb, faster CPU, slightly larger screen 8.3”, metal frame, and high quality screen. The battery has been adequate for me. I am not a heavy user (an hour or two at a time)."

only 2 gb of ram

Date:June 3, 2014
"This is a great tablet. It can play full hd video, and with additional bluetooth keyboard and mouse it can be used as a desktop.
Good things:
USB3
1920x1200
micro hdmi
fast enough for most work
works quite ok in metro interface, or whatever is the new official name
bad things:
only 2Gb of ram
no stylus
no usb cable for attaching usb hub :( (one port is not enough)
