Exceeds expectations

Date:December 7, 2014
" I already have a highly spec'ed Windows HP laptop and am very much resident in the Google-verse and therefore the concept of the Chromebook had appeal as a portal to my two G-accounts and the various apps therein. I have been waiting for Chromebooks to appear in my part of the World (New Zealand) and after reading many reviews finally settled on the X131e. I am under no illusion as to the limitations (& advantages) of Chrome OS vs the Windows OS and view the two as complementary rather than as one being the replacement for the other.
My experience to date (2 weeks) has been one of complete satisfaction with both the Chrome OS and the X131e which is robust in build and a delight to use. I warmly recommend the device to anyone looking for a Chromebook for similar reasons as I. I note other members of the family been quick to latch on to the advantages of a machine that is quick to boot and gives immediate access to the Google-verse and the internet generally. Well done Google & Lenovo "

Not worth the box it came in.

" Besides the chrome OS, which is totally reliant on internet, has very little software available for it, and the software it does have is very restrictive. The device itself has numerous problems. The track pad occasionally will stop working, or jump across the screen, the celeron processors are inadequate, internet gaming is impossible on this device, as well as any downloaded games, (I actually replaced them with intel processors myself). It has a single USB port [capable of charging], this is not at all competent with other devices, even though it is a laptop, I would expect at least two. Also, it is incapable of charging another device, even when charging itself, despite the fact that the specifications say the USB 2.0 port is "powered". This is a quite disappointing device, and I would have, if given the time back, never made the purchase. "
