"I got my Ideapd U450P through Costco so it's a bit cheaper then from the site. This is probably the best laptop I've owned thus far, it's light and super cute. The etched design is so neat and stylish. I love Windows7 on it and the face scan thing you have to do to log into the laptop in place of a password."
"I've had this laptop for a while and am very pleased with it.
Pros: -It's a light 14" laptop with an interesting design and feels very durable. -The display is very vibrant and has no problems displaying images. -The battery is very compact and last just as long as the big 9-cell battery on my old laptop. -Low heat. The laptop heats up only a bit when I regularly use it to surf the net, no where near the level of heat that my old Sony laptop gave off. -I have rarely had any technical problems where the computer froze up.
Cons: -The position of the Fn and Ctrl keys on the left are switched compared to most other computers, so it gets confusing for me when I need to use the school computers and start pressing the wrong key. -The touchpad is pretty sensitive so it becomes a problem when I brush against it when I'm typing stuff. No idea how to turn down the sensitivity, so if there is such a way then it wouldn't be such a big deal to me.
All in all, this is a great computer and am very glad I bought it."
"I bought the IdeaPad U450P because of the innovative "cross-hatch" finish which eliminates fingerprinting, and the high definition LCD display. I found many other features to like, such as the multi-touch keypad which allows me to expand the monitor view quickly with the keypad, as well as a comfortable easy-to-type keyboard. The battery lasts a long time with one charging, and the computer is extremely lightweight, even with the built-in CD/DVD player. I have a desktop computer at home but find myself using the Lenovo laptop more often at home for the convenience of using it in any room in the house."
Cons: Keyboard/peripherals, bit too nouveau exterior pattern, keyboard not as solid as on other business leonovo
"I bought a dell inspiron 14R before, but I was not happy with how clunky and thick it was. I saw this item and purchased it and i have to say its a great laptop with 320gb drive and clocks in at under 5 pounds with an optical drive! The screen is great and the battery life is good if not great. My only quibble is the textured exterior is a bit too trendy for me but that is a small quibble. Basically you get all the functionality of an apple macbook pro, for half the price."
"I am impressed with the ease of use and portability of the U450. However, I have a few caveats. Among my issues is the music on start up, another is the speakers, are somewhat tinny. With that said I like the speed, of operation even though it has a relatively slow processor."
"you are looking for a light and mobile 14" computer that can handle your multimedia needs. I've only had this computer for a short time, but it is an excellent product. The casing and materials are very well done. The computer was much lighter than I expected, but does not feel flimsy. The system runs Windows 7 without a fuss and the LCD screen is crystal clear. I'm very happy with this purchase and would suggest it to others. I'd rate this product somewhere between a 4 and 5, but there is no option for that. Since it's not 'perfect' it had to be a 4... but it's a a 4+.
Pluses: Light and thin design for travel Runs Windows 7 extremely well LCD screen produces excellent image Many features included within price range (HDMI output, Camera, Veriface software, etc).
Negatives: Speakers don't get very loud (however it does not go loud enough for distortion which is a good thing). Would've preferred slot loading DVD/CD drive Would've liked larger battery option (6 Cell seems to get about 4-5 hours)"
