Z570 no backup DVD

"It is too soon to write anything but want the buyers know it comes with NO BACkUP DVD or CDs. If you forget to back up and something goes wrong you can buy it for I believe $ 89 (customer support informed met that). I guess outsourcing is not enough to make profits.
I received my laptop in less than 5 days, it needed some clean up on the surface.

I bought z570-1024DDU one, so far it's going good. Boots up fast. Keyboard is a little messy one, wonder why they added numerical pad and pushed the keys to a corner. Over all design is OK not great.
Disappointed that it has no small light that can be turned on in the night to see the key-Board. My very old thinkpad had it. I loved the design of it, it was a cute one.
Keep a few DVDs ready to make your system restore disks before you do anything."

"Is a good overall purchase, for a HOME USER. I'm not as easily shamoozeled as the rest of the kids. This is not my first Lenovo. I currently own 6 and service over 30 at work. I have the i7 model with a 750Gig and 8GB. It seems a bit more "delicate" than the tough lenovo's i am used to. The entire thing is a dust and finger print magnet. It is half the weight of T61's, they weigh about 10pounds each. I have had it since early DEC, and only used it maybe 10 hours. After it gets tuned- all the un-necessary- trial software removed. I am sure it will be just fine. The one thing that bothers me the most is--NO not that its lowest in its class size resolution(1366x768) screen. I did expect higher for an HD screen though but i can live with that. Its the plain older model SATA 5400 hard drive. IT BOTTLE NECKS THE ENTIRE SYSTEM. I already ordered a SSD for mine, even an SATA 2 would have been .40-.60ms faster with about .5 faster seek time. Over all I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good HOME/DESKTOP replacement system. Looks beautiful hooked up to my HD big screen. I also know that with the Lenovo dependability it will last a long time. Hey, i am an analyst by trade & tech freek, you may absolutely love it. Go try it out for your self at a store dont take only my word for it. I didn't test drive your last car for ya, or try on that last pair of jeans you bought. Go do it your self. Lenovo's have always been a good, solid computer in my eye's. And by the way- i happen to like the keyboard. The color of mine is bit of a mystery though, its not GUN METAL anything, i own more guns than L/Tops and none are this color. Battery life is "FAIR"-- but i guess thats how they get you to buy 2nd/extra one or extended length battery. Short battery time is directly related to having alot of power and memory. If thats an issue for you try to balance the power plan. I keep mine at Maximum performance. Dead/bad battery can be replaced- frustration from a slow computer can ruin your whole day"

Lenevo quality does not match the IBM Thinkpad.

"OK purchase but disappointed with the plasctic body underneath the aluminimum top. The base heats up after prolonged power up time.
I bought it because it was feature rich compared to the other costco laptops and they offered a $50 off coupon at point of sale.
The color quality on the screen is marginal after making several adjustments to improve the visual quality.
The lenevo software was problematic causing a blue screen that required me to roll back to a backup image I had fortunately created right after I configured windows. Don't skip on creating a backup image or you will be sorry.
Called Costco tech support with the bluescreen problem and they where no help other than offering to refer me to lenevo if I called back the next day.
If I had to buy another laptop it would likely not be a lenevo, maybe a Dell Latitude with an aluminimum body and detached DVD drive."

"My experience with this computer does not warrant high praise. While the total package is not bad, the touchpad problems have resulted in sending the computer to the repair depot three times in three months for the same problem.
If you are not using it to browse the net, beware of the touchpad.
Otherwise, the computer is adequate. The keyboard is great, screen has vivid colors."

Lenovo Z570 Best of Everything!

"As a serious gamer and a grad student, i love this laptop, as i can easily say its one of my best investment and its easily worth the price. Its better than most gamer pc's out there in the market, if you can find a 2GB supported video card as a supplement, this is the mean machine! It works perfect and plays highest resolution games on high graphics with no problem. I like the texture of the entire body, the metal finish and the keys are maddeningly comforting and easy to type with. This is a remarkable piece of technology and if you are looking into buying one, i strongly recommend you!"

1. Performance is very good.
2. Aesthetically nice. But decide if you are good with 15.6 inch screen before you buy. For me, I feel its larger than required.
3. No heating problem.
4. Sound quality and max volume is too good. You feel the SRS WOW HD effect.
5. The top panel touch buttons for sound, picture modes are really cool. Feels like touchscreen ones.
6. You really feel the image sharpness and difference with the Intelligent/Movie mode which turns ON/OFF automatically when you watch movies/photos.

Love My Lenovo Z570!

"I had been doing a lot of homework before I made my decision on my Lenovo Z570. I was all excited about what the competitors had to offer. The top dog had their usual at their usual high prices. The tablet was nice looking and worked well, but was not for me, their laptop really didn't offer that much except for the nice operating system, which would probably take me a few months to get used to. They also had a book type tablet, great for portability but no storage. That would mean I would still have to transfer all of my work on a regular basis. They also did not come with much software. Everything was ala carte. I prefer the whole package at one serving.
Now I can talk about the Z570. This laptop came with the bells and whistles 8 gigs of memory, ATI HD 4200 video card, 750 gig hardrive, 15.6 screen and lots of speed. It has an abundance of software that is necessary and a few that are not as necessary and that you can decide, not the manufacturer deciding what to try to sell you after you get it home. Windows 7 Home Premium is fast and efficient, and another important factor is, this laptop never gets even warm on your lap. Very rarely does the fan even go on and you can hardley hear that. The battery life is very good. I can use it for 3-4 hrs. before even thing about plugging it in. I recommend the the Lenovo Z-570 based on my satisfaction. Now all you can do is try it for yourself. You'll keep about $500.00 in your pocket also."

Couple significant (for me) problems:
Battery life is really poor - about two and a half hours tops
Scrolling slide on mousepad very annoying and quirky
Keyboard layout for num pad (home, end, pgdn, pgup and del) and scrolling arrows differ from previous laptops I've owned and complicate navigating."

"Hey hi i bought mine nearly a year back...this is a good laptop the battery causes worries but..lenovos on site warranty is great my battery went faulty..they repalced it...the battery still has a low performance but thats a problem with the laptop i guess..it keeps draining it....i just use it for browsing and making music.....and mine has only 3 gb of ram...its a good bet anda feature packed model..."

"Wanted to gift my wife a laptop. Since i work away from home.. she always has to go for cyber cafe for face to face chat. I wanted to gift her Acer aspire but then i checked the features Lenovo Idea Pad Z570 had. esp. the led screen

"I've never written a review for anything, but I've had this laptop since last summer and it's far exceeded my expectations. I wanted a macbook or macbook pro but this was literally half the cost and works fine. The reason I'm writing this review is that over the weekend I accidently dropped my laptop from about 5 ft in the air onto a wooden floor. I thought for sure it would be toast and was heartbroken. Picked it up, turned it one and it works just as good as before the fall. That alone has sold me. Plus I'm picky about the "feel" of the keyboard and I really like this one. For the money you can't go wrong."

My Lenovo Z-570 I-7 Excellent Choice!

"The Z570 was my choice after trying out all of the other brands that were available. I was down to two, a MacBook Pro and the Lenovo Z-570. The Z570 with I7 processor 8gigs of memory and a 750 gig hardrive performed better then the MacBook. It is faster, runs exceptionally cooler then any other laptop I tried. It is super quiet which is a plus when you dont want to disturb anybody near you with a blower going on and off. It was a close call performance wise to the MacBook Pro maybe even faster, but when it came to price and what was included, the decision was clear. More computer for a lot less money, I mean a lot less. I would recommend the Lenovo Z570 for anybody looking for a reliable product."
