Mostly great, but sub-par basics

Date:September 6, 2014
"This is a solidly-built tablet and runs speedy, and I would have kept it but the screen doesn't even look as good as the Samsung Galaxy Tab (first edition), it's washed-out, silvery, the backlight eliminates all blacks, and has poor viewing angles.
There's no light sensor so there's no automatic brightness. Imagine waking up and having to manually turn the brightness down, or back up in the afternoon. Too much maintenance.
The power plug is at the top, which means no charging keyboard dock like my Galaxy Tab (which runs too slow for typing). The Dell Venue 7 has this on the bottom, but I've read it has the same washed-out screen, so I'll be skipping that too.
The Nexus 7 is still the best Android 7" at this point by a long shot, and I would recommend that over any others (the iPad mini is too big for me).
It's really too bad Lenovo didn't put a better screen on it. I could have lived with the charging port at the top, but why not put it on the bottom?"

Good Not Excellent

Date:August 21, 2014
"I really wanted this tablet to be excellent, but it's not. The overall quality has improved ( I owned an earlier version). However, the speakers on this tablet are marginal and it consumes more power than stated in the description.
I do think it's on par with the Samsung 7" tablet when it comes to features and price. The Lenovo does have Bluetooth connectivity while many of its competitors only offer WiFi.
I hope that Lenovo will keep improving this product and its speakers can use an overhaul. Overall, I would recommend this product."

Does what it should

Date:August 16, 2014
"Excellent value for the money, Bought it to read books and it does that well. Netflix works along with Hulu Plus.It does everything a tablet should and works well. I may upgrade to the 10inch version... Definitely worth the $129."
