Small and Powerful for a Competitive Price

Date:July 23, 2014
"I purchased this laptop as a highly portable solution for productivity on business trips, looking up recipes in the kitchen, streaming video, and using the internet at home or on trips.
A Chromebook wouldn't work because I needed Microsoft Office in order to edit .pptx and .docx files from business collaborators. This compatibility is essential for editing graphics on presentations and papers, openoffice or an office app won't cut it.
Because the full license for Office was included in the price, this was the cheapest laptop for this size and performance. It would have been competitive even without this.
In terms of speed, it takes Office about 10 seconds to load the first time after startup, and about 2-3 seconds after that. So I have not bothered to upgrade the RAM.
No complaints other than my frustration at Windows 8 not being as friendly for PC users as Windows 7. This is what I took a star off for under features and reliability."

impressed

Date:May 28, 2014
"Great for home/personal use. Perfect form factor, light, very portable, feels solid unlike two thinkpads I owned in the past (T40 and T400) which fell apart within a year. Keyboard is toddler proof to the extent that tiny hands can't pull any of the keys out. Impressed by the 4 core AMD processor. Chrome appears to run well. Office apps run well. Games (Diablo 3) run well. Battery life is good (4-6 hours if you let the computer manage it for you and follow the battery monitor's recommendations). Cons: touch pad is a little hard to get used to if you are used to track point, the screen is hard to see outdoors, and the power plug jack on the side rather than the back is a little annoying."

Underpowered and not worth your money

Date:May 27, 2014
"I bought this computer because it was small and light. I thought I didn't need anything too powerful as it was mostly for surfing the web and emails. However this computer is so under-powered it can barely switch between browser windows without pausing. My advice is to walk right on past this and to a more powerful computer."
