Review 1 for Thinkpad X131e Intel
Doesn't work properly!
Date:30 November 2015
"We got this laptop from our school for this year and from the beginning it was bad. My first boot took me 15 minutes to load, dissapointed. Went on their website when i came home and it said 8 hours of battery... barely lasted me a whole day and then the macbook air can last 2 days without charging. And the weight for this laptop is just bad, feels like it 6kg and its not pleasent when you nee to carry it around all the time. 1 month later the harddrive crashed, our tech guy changed the harddrive. Now it takes about half an hour to just boot up to windows and its not good would not recommend unless your on a really tight budget and even then i wouldn't recommend it."

Review 2 for Thinkpad X131e Intel
Never Trust School Purchases.
Date:21 May 2014
"I've had this laptop for about a month or so, and already it's falling apart. The keys sometimes don't register, and the entire keyboard is coming off.I can't adjust the volume or brightness of the laptop half the time due to the function key neglecting to well.. function. The resolution is okay, but it's not the best. What would you expect out of a laptop based around education. I've also had random hard drive crashes occur. Thankfully the school has a Cloud for if thing like this were to happen. The battery life is also not as advertised. The school told us that the laptops would last up to 8 hours on a full charge. Even at the lowest brightness setting and the best possible power saving setting for the battery, I can only get 4.5 hours MAX out of it."
"I actually have the previous model (X121e) rather than the X131e. Hoever, they are very similar in terms of size etc. I absolutely love my X121e, it is well made and has a fantastic keyboard. It is running 64bit Windows 7 and I have upgraded it to 8GB (dead easy). Speed is good and the screen is clear and bright. Battery is OK, I get about 4 hours per charge. The only thing which is not great is the sound which is very quiet. Lenovo support (drivers etc.) is great too. Fast boot is also excellent."

Review 4 for Thinkpad X131e Intel
Owned Product:Less than a month
Operating System:Windows 7 Professional
Processor:Intel Core i3
Memory:4 GB or more
Date:16 September 2012
Pros: Screen size, Build Quality, Processor
Cons: Weight, Battery
"The battery was touted as upto 8.5 hours, and the laptop was supposed to weigh 1.3 KG.
With general office work (Outlook, Word, a web browser) I'm lucky to get more than 4.5 hours, and it actually weighs over 1.8 KG.
The poor battery performance can't be because the brightness is turned up full whack because the screen doesn't actually go that bright. It is considerably less bright than the Acer Timeline laptop that it replaces.
The fan is noticeably noisier than any other recent laptop I have seen, even when the machine is idle and Windows 7 cooling is set to passive.
On the plus side, the speakers give a good volume, and the placement of the HDMI and VGA sockets (on opposite sides) mean that you can connect two screens while working at a desk.
On balance, I regret buying and would not buy this laptop again. It is a good 1.5cm wider than the X121e, and is at least 200g heavier. I wish I had been able to get an X121e instead, and am already counting down the time until I can justify replacing this X131e."
Cons: Processor, Video card, Warranty, Included Software, Software compatibility
"Very good mobility and overall design. Configurable: wifi with MIMO; built-in 3G network; USB3.0 Ports. Very good keyboard with gentle and firm touch feelings. The CPU has 4 threads and is more than enough for daily work and entertainment. Also the memory can be added to 8GB. The screws are very easy to unscrew and the hard drive and memory is very easy to be replaced. The screen has a high resolution and is 16:9 wide screen. The battery has a very long time more than 5 hours of normal use (and stated mostly 8.5 hours in spec) because the low voltage of CPU. It is clear and bright. The drawback is not so good performance for high-end gaming as there is no independent video card but only a HD3000 in CPU. I can run NFS Carbon and play it for fun but not fluent, whereas NFS 9 Most Wanted(just before Carbon) can play very fluent. Note that the hard drive is slim(7mm) but not usually 9.5mm in height. And there is no built-in cd-rom included. And for a new windows installation, it needs a lot of drivers otherwise even the windows update won't work. And the drivers and softwares on this website does not provide all softwares and drivers that come with this computer and I found it disappointed that after I installed my own windows I do not have everything as when I just received this laptop. And last thing, it has only one year of warrenty."
