Great, reliable dock

"I was bummed that my x201 didn't come with a drive; however, I haven't missed it at all with this dock. It's in my office and I install anything I need to there. On the road I can leave that all behind and travel light with my x201!
very satisfied as it's very reliable...no issues whatsoever...and i've had to over 2 years!"

Good bit of kit

"I have an X220 laptop and I love it's small size. It took me a while to get used to it having gone from a T510, but I like the portability as I am on the road a lot and these days I need to do more email and document writing than I do techy stuff.

The ultrabase came with the laptop and is great as it gets used as a dock in the office, but also it is small enough to attach to the bottom of the X series so I can take an optical drive with me if I think I'll need it.

The X Series is a compromise in terms of no optical drive, but the ultrabase makes it a more flexible option. Overall I'm very happy with it. When it is attached it is a bit bigger than I'd like, which is why I only give it 4 stars, but I doubt it could be made much smaller, so I'm possibly being a little unfair. I would recommend for people who are in and out of the office a lot."
