Customer Reviews for ThinkPad X1 Carbon
Review 1 for ThinkPad X1 Carbon
Owned Product:7-12 months
Operating System:Windows 8 Pro
poor screen lets down a great laptop
Date:15 December 2013
"I love this laptop for all the reasons others have mentioned. I don't particularly like the lenovo software, which I do my best to ignore.
I love how fast is charges - that has saved me on so many occasions. It is light, fast, has good battery life... but that screen... urghh. It's usable, but I would switch to another system with a better screen unless Lenovo releases an updated touch version with a high resolution screen."

Review 2 for ThinkPad X1 Carbon

Loving my X1 Carbon
Date:20 September 2013
"I got my new X1 Carbon a few weeks ago. I thought my previous ThinkPad was powerful and (reasonably) light but this product is gorgeous. Sleek, powerful, slim, stylish and fast. The only problem? I saw the ThinkPad Yoga at IFA last week and now I think I covet something new! Mmmm!"
"I have been in the pursuit of the ultimate business machine for many years, relentlessly investing in the latest PC’s and Mac Books. I can now bring this pursuit to a stop now I have the X1 Carbon, it is all a serious business user can ask for."
"I read a lot of reviews on this laptop before purchasing and decided to go ahead.
After a few pushbacks I finally got it a month after paying. First impressions: Extremely light, great looking machine. Nice feel to it, with the slightly rubberized coating. Extremely thin.
The keyboard is amazing, never had anything like it, and the trackpoint works exactly as always. What disappoints me is the trackpad. It has the same coating as the laptop so it is not smooth and very awkward to use. For the price I would think it would be more refined.
The laptop's performance is good, Core i5 with 4GB RAM, 256GB SSD. The SSD is not as fast as my desktop SSD, but still light years ahead of mechanical drives. The screen is bright, but very, very poor quality for such an upmarket laptop. Very grainy, you can make out every pixel from a normal viewing distance. Very disappointing. I eventually could not stand it and returned my machine, sticking with my X300. If these problems were addressed I would not hesitate to buy another right away."
"I am a CTO of a digital agency and so get a new laptop each month, I have tested the lovely Samsung 900x which has a great screen but terrible track pad, and average keyboard. The Lenovo is great in every way apart from the screen is so average it losses a star. But I'll keep it for now as has the best keyboard track pad in a PC laptop I have used."
