Owned Product:1-6 months
Operating System:Windows 7 Premium
Processor:Intel Core i7
Memory:4 GB or more
Best Laptop I have ever had
Date: January 18, 2013
Pros: Battery, Processor, Durability, Memory, Video card, Display resolution
Cons: Storage, Weight, Included Software
"Awesome laptop, really high performance as promised. Just need to tweak the OS for full administrator rights. Good Battery life- works for 5 hours on battery. Machine is bit heavy but if you want performance this machine will be your best value for money. My system boots in less than 9 seconds after swapping the original HD with a intel 700 series ssd."

"This one will beat Alienware 14x for sure, for good."
"I bought this laptop for university. I wanted something that both looked good, and had power. This has both of those things.
Plays games really well, and if a laptop can play games well, it can do anything well.
The only big downside that sort of bothers me is it's weight and thickness.
Also, the keyboard unfortunately has French letters on it as well as regular English letters, and I feel the keyboard is too jam-packed with keys and unnecessary letter markings."
"a) the keyboard is not a standard keyboard layout which will cause you to make numerous mistakes. They have \ key in place of the shift key. Enter key is not in the same place, other issues too. Note: I'm a very proficient typer and use 3 laptops. I always expect differences from laptop to laptop but this is ridiculous.
b) Mouse: different mouse set up. Very large mousepad which gets in the way of typing.
c) they have changed the power outlet so it won't be compatible with other lenovo computers. (this mad me made since I confirmed this with the online sales agent prior to ordering)
Maybe non North American countries prefer this new keyboard layout, all I'm saying is its probably best to buy one in the store as with all the modern technology there is no reason why this should be a surprise on something so simple to communicate.
FYI: this comes from someone that put in more than 8 hours of research prior to buying this computer."
"I've had my new Ideapad for under a week now and I am highly impressed with the machine. The last *Pad I owned was a Thinkpad almost 12 years ago, so I thought it was time to return to the *Pad brands for my most recent purchase.
There's very little to be disappointed in with this laptop, though there are a few minor nitpicks.
The machine is fast, stylish, powerful enough to play some recent games, bright, boots quickly thanks to the 32G SSD, has great sound. In essence, this is a machine that I know I will enjoy for a long time.
As for the nitpicks, they're the following:
The edge of the laptop is not overly rounded and the edge does dig into your skin a bit if you're the type who lets your wrists rest on the machine.
The Touchpad is my biggest problem with the machine. Though it always takes time to get used to controlling a pointer with a new Touchpad, it's the right and left click buttons that are terrible. Sometimes I have to click up to 4-5 times to get them to register a single click. Those two buttons are built into the pad instead of being separate plastic buttons, making it impossible to click them both at the same time with your thumb. My solution to this problem was to simply purchase a wireless mouse at a local store.
The only other problems I had with the computer was shipping. The anticipated ship date was supposed to be within 2 weeks of ordering, however it took close to 4 weeks to be ready and almost a month before it got here.
Worst of all, whoever is in charge of shipping tends to waste resources dramatically. I don't know if this is someone at Lenovo or the shipping provider, but out of 3 additional items that came with the computer, only 1 was in a box that was a great fit, the other 2 were in boxes large enough to be filled with at least a dozen of that same item, there's just no excuse to be wasting resources like that in today's world.
Overall, I am very happy with my purchase, if they can work on the Touchpad, round out the edges and make sure that shipping is a bit better, I would have zero complaints about my new purchase.
"This laptop is really a powerful one and is an excellent investment for gamers.
Fast, silent, don't heat too much, and nice design.
Take note that this model don't supoort 2 HDD as I tough, it one 2.5'' HDD + a mSata port for a second one.
Also the keyboard is really NOT practical for programmers. The keys placement is really mixed up because of the space wich make me type errors all the time. ex. : The righ "shift button" is left of the "<" symbol, so it's inverted when we want to use it..."
